PERSPECTIVES IN MATHEMATICS

This book was planned primarily as a text for a one year course in mathematics for students not intending to take calculus. However, it could be used as a sourcebook by teachers and mathematicians or as outside reading by undergraduate mathematics majors. The usual topics from collegiate precalculus courses have specifically been excluded, as has calculus itself. Each chapter contains a rather detailed study of a topic chosen from one of the major branches of modern mathematics.
